The five finalists presented their projects to the jury on 6 February
Last Thursday, 6 February, in the Assembly Hall of the Citius, the five finalists of the 6th Edition of Altia Premia presented their final dissertations to the jury, made up of representatives of Altia and the Engineering School of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
Antía Varela, Carla Pereira, Martín Omil, Raúl José Salgado and Uxía Tacón – the finalists of this edition – presented their projects, all of them of great quality.
The jury’s decision will be made public between 17 and 21 February.
The jury

The finalists presented their work before the jury, which was made up of Josefina Fernández, Ana María González, Miguel Ares and José Ramón Tubío on behalf of Altia; and María Jesús Taboada and Alberto Suárez on behalf of the Engineering School of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The finalists
- Antía Varela Rey with her project “Emobook. Evolution of a life stories application for music therapy sessions”.
- Carla Pereira Iglesias with her project “Population and correlation study in cardiac rehabilitation patients”.
- Martín Omil Nogales with his project “MY PICTOSTORIES: animated and interactive stories for everybody”.
- Raúl José Salgado García with his project “PRISMATIC: Machine learning for multimodal cardiac medical image segmentation”.
- Uxía Carro Tacón with her project “PERIOSTAGE: Application for periodontogram annotation and calculation of periodontal disease stage”.

Altia Premia is a joint initiative between Altia and the ETSE Engineering School designed to promote learning and digital talent among computer engineering students. The award seeks to recognise students’ effort and passion, and the winner will receive a prize of €1,500.
