The acquisition, valued at 4.15 million euros, means we are taking in over 110 professionals
We have signed a deal with Verne Technology Group for the acquisition of its Data and Artificial Intelligence business unit. This includes Verne Academy, a specialised training platform. Valued at 4.15 million, the acquisition means we are welcoming over 110 professionals.
The deal will add value and enhance both companies’ competitiveness. With this move, we are significantly strengthening our position in data analytics, artificial intelligence and IT training. Meanwhile, Verne Technology Group is continuing its strategy of focusing on its core business in the telecommunications sector. The two business units acquired by us had revenues of 7.7 million euros and EBITDA of 0.9 million euros in 2024.

Our acquisition aligns with its inorganic growth strategy, which prioritises data governance and AI. The line of business gained from Verne Technology Group specialises in business intelligence consulting, real-time interactive reporting using leading technologies such as Power BI and Qlik Sense, and advanced integration of AI with data analytics through solutions like Microsoft Fabric.

Constantino Fernández
Altia's president
“The addition of Verne Technology Group’s Data and AI unit is strategic for Altia, as it significantly strengthens our offering in advanced analytics and AI – critical areas for our clients’ digital growth. With this deal, we are also welcoming expert talent in cutting-edge technologies, which will undoubtedly allow us to continue to offer innovative and effective solutions adapted to the needs of today’s market.”
For Verne Technology Group, this deal is part of a reorganisation and strategic asset management process to double down on its core business – telecommunications. Going forward, the focus will be on network infrastructure and connectivity projects, fibre optic deployment and renewable energy projects in the markets in which it currently operates.
“We have carefully analysed strategic alternatives to ensure that the Data and AI and the training units can continue to develop in a highly specialised environment, maximising the team’s potential and securing the best partner to support our clients,” said Gianni Cecchin, Verne Technology Group’s CEO. He added: “In this sense, we are very pleased to have found Altia a leading tech company whose strategy and commitment will further build on the successes achieved by the unit and the entire team in recent years.”
Extensive technical skills
The team moving from Verne Technology Group to Altia comprises professionals with a solid track record and extensive technical skills, with profiles that fit perfectly with the group’s vision for development and expansion. Through this acquisition, we have also gained a diversified and robust client portfolio, strengthening its competitive position in key sectors such as banking, energy, telecommunications, retail and public administrations.
As well as adding to its technological solutions, we are also acquiring Verne Academy, reinforcing its commitment to specialised technical training. This educational platform offers advanced programmes in data analytics, artificial intelligence and digital tools – the perfect complement to our value proposition, as clients demand increasingly specialised profiles trained in emerging technologies.
With this new acquisition, we now boast over 4000 professionals and continues to strengthen its position as a leader in advanced tech services. The deal follows recent acquisitions such as Bilbomática, Wairbut and IN2, confirming our strategy of acquiring businesses with high growth potential that complement our technological services and presence in different markets. It also reinforces our position in the Spanish and international tech market by optimising our capabilities in data analytics and AI, as well as enhancing our training capacity. These will be key factors for facing current and future digital challenges.
